"No cause ever justifies the killing of innocent life," he says President Bush condemned "in the strongest terms" the February 6 terrorist attack on the Moscow subway and reaffirmed U.S. support for Russia in opposing terrorist acts. Following is the statement from the White House: (begin text) THE WHITE HOUSE February 6, 2004 STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT I condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on the Moscow subway. I join the American people in grieving for the victims and for their families. No cause ever justifies the killing of innocent life.
