Rocket Attack Kills Two Soldiers in Balad

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2004 – Two soldiers were killed today and 21 others were injured in a rocket attack at Logistics Support Area Anaconda in Balad, Iraq, U.S. Central Command officials announced in a news release.

Fourteen injured soldiers were taken to the 31st Combat Support Hospital in Balad, and seven injured soldiers were treated at the troop medical clinic, the news release said.

The names of the dead are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
